The Union Brewery

Cool, crisp and refreshing. There is always something great on tap at The Union, whether it’s a local craft beer or one of our very own house brews. All of our house beers are made fresh and feature a variety of seasonal flavors. Our draft beers and lagers are sure to please at any time of the year!

Our Beers

Happy Days IPA

From The Brewer:  IPA: We designed this IPA to showcase the hop mosaic. The mosaic hops are quite complex in their profile. It may be most noted for its “blueberry” or “berry medley” aromas, although other descriptors used may include mango, stone fruit, rosy or floral, bubblegum, tropical, citrus, grassy, earthy, or herbal. Like I said, it’s a complicated hop variety and lives up to its name well. The beer has a big malt skeleton on which we hung the hops. This also led to a high ABV, though I think the high alcohol content isn’t forward, the hops providing the main sensory experience. Very drinkable.

Carson Blonde

From the Brewer: One of the most approachable styles, a golden or blonde ale is an easy-drinking beer that is visually appealing and has no particularly dominating malt or hop characteristics. Rounded and smooth, it is an American classic known for its simplicity. We used Saaz hops as the final aroma hop addition. Saaz has a very distinctive flavor. When used in beer, the resultant aroma is very mild, earthy, herbal and spicy. However, we didn’t want the hops to dominate, but rather play a supporting role in this easy drinker.

The Flying Scotsman DIPA

From the Brewer:  The flying Scotsman is a standard Double IPA in its malt construction, 92% base malt.  It has small doses of wheat and crystal malt to help with head retention and color. It has two relatively obscure hops, Pekko and Azacca. These are both varietals from the American Dwarf Hop Association. Pekko is floral and herbal/earthy and is named after the Finnish god of crops.  Azacca can produce mango but also piney notes and is named after a Haitian god of agriculture. It has big malt, on which to hang 93 IBUs and have almost 9% ABV.

The Governor Hefeweizen

From the Brewer: A traditional Bavarian-style Hefeweizen named and brewed in honor of Governor Brian Sandoval’s support of craft beer in Nevada! A high wheat content delivers the soft grainy notes. A bit more carbonated than other ales to effervesce more on the palette. The yeast is responsible for the banana and light clove notes.  Pairs well with grilled meats while enjoying the sunshine in The Union Backyard.

Brickhouse Red

From the Brewer: This easy drinking red ale is full bodied with plenty of caramel character. Hallertau Mittelfrau hops add a nice earthy complexity. There is a little bit of yeast character in the middle, almost tutti-fruity or Trix cereal, but for adults.

C-Town Brown Ale

From the Brewer:  Our Brown Ale is an amalgamation of a British mild and bitter. Not too high of an alcohol content. It’s not sweet, nor bitter, per se, and only Fuggles hops are used. Grassy, earthy, some floral notes. Discovered as a “wild” hop in a British hop yard in 1861 this hop has become a British standard along with East Kent Goldings.
